• Social Media Part 3: Get LinkedIn!

  • LinkedIn is a great platform for entrepreneurs, job seekers and business-savvy people to connect and find new business opportunities.

    However, the full power of this platform is often overlooked and underutilized. To get the best ROI with LinkedIn, you have to engage with the people you welcome into your network. I know, I know … I’m guilty of it too. I’ll accept a new connection and never do anything with it. But we’ve got to break out of this habit.

    As you get connected to new people, be sure to send a follow-up note to see where there is synergy. You might engage in an email exchange, set up a phone call or an in-person meeting, whichever feels most comfortable to you. But be sure to take the initiative and reach out. Another avenue to consider are the groups on LinkedIn. You might consider starting a dialogue in one of your favorite groups or posting a question or blog. This is a good way to increase your visibility and make stronger connections. I’m going to try and do this more often, and I hope you will too, in order to leverage the full power of LinkedIn.
